Healthy Oxford Hills, the Community Health department at Stephens Memorial Hospital/Western Maine Health, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Prevention Program Coordinator to join our team. As a Prevention Program Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in promoting health and wellness by providing education to Oxford County schools, employers, community partners and other community members. We are looking for highly driven, self-motivated individuals who are interested in public speaking opportunities, developing relationships with community partners, and providing direct prevention education using a variety of modalities.

This position will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of the Maine Prevention Network (MPN) services for Western Maine Health. The MPN initiative is focused on prevention efforts to improve health outcomes associated with substance use, tobacco use and exposure, and obesity. The primary responsibility of this position will be to fulfill the workplan related to tobacco and substance use prevention in schools and communities throughout Oxford County. This is a hybrid role, requiring some travel.

This position provides program coordination support to one or more MaineHealth programs. The incumbent is accountable for supporting the development, implementation, operation, and daily coordination of assigned programs. Incumbent assists in organizing processes that ensure program goals are met, measured, analyzed, evaluated and reported. They are the first level of contact for all vendors, internal and external stakeholders. Works closely with the Healthy Oxford Hills MPN and Western District MPN program teams.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • License/Certifications: N/A
  • Experience: 1 - 2 years of healthcare or related work experience. May require experience in a specific program area.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Finance Management skills, and experience working with complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to model professional behavior by working as a valuable team member, respecting others, and maintaining open and honest communication.
