CT/X-Ray Technologist
 

Cary Medical Center is seeking a skilled CT/X-Ray Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform Computed Tomography procedures for inpatients and outpatients, prioritizing high-quality outcomes, patient safety, and exceptional customer service.

Essential Job Duties, But Not Limited To:

  • Completes computed tomography (CT) procedures following departmental protocols
  • Confidently explains CT procedures to patients
  • Accurately and consistently completes required CT paperwork
  • Assists the Front Office staff in insuring orders for CT procedures are appropriate
  • Maintains current standards of practice through review of current literature, including information on best practice
  • Completes IV starts and IV management following hospital protocol for contrast material administration
  • Administers appropriate contrast material required to complete CT procedures
  • Confidently explains possible IV problems and possible contrast material reactions to patients
  • Completes assigned CT duties efficiently and effectively

Requirements

Licenses and Education:

  • State of Maine Radiologic Technology License
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
  • CPR Certification

Organizational requirements:

  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wears identification while on duty.
  • Uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Adheres to Appearance and Dress Code policy, appearance is neat and tidy:
  • Fingernails must be clean, neatly manicured and of reasonable length. Artificial nails may not be worn in identified areas per Infection Control Policy.
  • Makeup and jewelry should be worn in a conservative and tasteful manner. Jewelry should not present a safety hazard or interfere with job performance.
  • Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Adheres to safety policies as evidenced by in-service attendance records and employee practices.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements (i.e. licensing, certification).
  • Attends staff meetings, reviews monthly staff meeting minutes of missed meetings.
  • Parks in designated employee areas.
  • Does not exceed 3% unscheduled absences.

Availability:

  • M-F (24 hours) as manager schedules.
  • In consideration of our patients’ and staff needs, you may be required to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, and may need to float to other units.
