Program Committee update
The Program Committee wants to thank everyone (members and non-members alike) who submitted abstracts to be considered for the fall conference- the competition was extremely tough with over 40 abstracts submitted! It was a great reminder of all the incredible work that is going on right here in our own backyard. Because of this high volume of response we are considering holding a mid-year meeting in April 2011 to coincide with National Public Health Week AND we need more volunteers for the committee to ensure a top notch second conference. Please contact Program Committee Chair Kristen Dow if you are able to lend a hand.
SAVE THE DATE- MPHA's 26th annual meeting
Our Annual Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th at the Augusta Civic Center-- sponsorship and registration information to follow in June.
Are YOU Ready?
It takes more than duct tape to be ready for an emergency in Maine! As public health professionals, we need to model good preparedness habits for our family, friends and neighbors (studies show that only approximately 20% of public health professionals are prepared for an emergency). Sooo, time to stop putting it off and go to www.getMEready.org for information, simple tools and tips to get ready today. You can even register for a free emergency preparedness kit online until May 30.
