MPHA memberships lapsed September 30, 2009 MPHA is the voice of public health in Maine- be a part of the advocacy, education, networking and other benefits that we provide our members! Simply go to www.mainepublichealth.org/join.php to join online or download a membership form.
From the Policy Committee The Policy Committee invites you to be a part of the excitement and intrigue that is State and Federal politics! Join the policy committee by contacting committee chair Bethany Sanborn. No travel necessary- we meet via conference call once a month (or more during the session) and will consider all bills that members present to us. Last year we were involved in over a dozen bills plus several Federal and local measures and this year promises to be just as fun. Our next meeting is December 7 at 3pm and we welcome seasoned veterans and political neophytes to join us!
Sad news from the Board It is with a heavy heart that we report that MPHA’s second president, George Nilson, died in October. He played a significant role in MPHA’s creation as well as in public health in Maine. Our deepest sympathies go out to George’s family, friends and colleagues.
Sustainability Retreat All members are invited to an all-day retreat on February 8, 2010 to discuss the priorities of MPHA and the sustainability of those priorities. Please contact committee chair Anita Ruff if you are interested in participating.
