On behalf of the Board and Planning Committee, I would like to cordially invite you to our 25th anniversary annual meeting, titled Portraits of the Past, Visions of the Future on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Augusta Civic Center. This special event once again promises to be the premier public health meeting in Maine. We are extremely fortunate to have secured nationally known and respected Bob McKinnon from the media and communications firm Yellow Brick Road in New York City as our keynote speaker.
Breakout sessions on obesity, environmental health, emergency preparedness, infectious disease, worksite wellness and mental health will be featured. And, of course, there will be great opportunities to network with your public health colleagues, awards for public health achievements, and compelling information including our work with the “This Is Public Health” campaign.
The MPHA Annual Meeting is an important conference for public health professionals throughout Maine, bringing together people from multiple disciplines to discuss and develop new approaches to protecting and promoting the health of Maine people. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary milestone by holding a post-meeting reception, asking participants to contribute to a time capsule that will be opened at our 50th anniversary meeting and displaying images of public health in the past and present.
We hope you can join us at this memorable conference! Please visit www.mainepublichealth.org to register or for more information.
Sincerely,
Tina Pettingill, MPH Executive Director
