MPHA Nominations ... and its time to Get Ready!

MPHA Awards & Board Nominations
Attention all MPHA members! We need your help to identify candidates for MPHA Leadership Positions, and to nominate programs/individuals who deserve recognition for their service to promoting public health in Maine.

The due date for all nominations is October 3, 2008, and the outcome of these searches will be announced at the MPHA Annual Meeting on November 3, 2008.  All nomination and award forms are simple to fill out and available at www.mainepublichealth.org and can be e-mailed or faxed.

1.  MPHA Board of Directors nominations
MPHA is led by and for its members. MPHA relies on members to identify those who will serve on the MPHA Board of Directors to provide the insight, experience, energy and creativity to lead MPHA to serve its members and the public health needs of the people of Maine. Election is held at the MPHA Annual Meeting.

2.  MPHA recognizes outstanding public health contributions
The Maine Public Health Association recognizes significant contributions to the health of Maine people and to public health practice in Maine each year.  We present three annual awards at the MPHA Annual Meeting.

Get Ready!
MPHA and our emergency preparedness partners from across the State are urging all Mainers to Get Ready for any hazard that may come our way.  This Thursday, 9/25 at 9:30am we are holding a press event at the State House in Augusta detailing the Get Ready campaign and issuing a call to action to individuals and families in Maine.  All MPHA members are encouraged to join us at this event and also in spreading the word about the free materials available through Get Ready.  Check out www.mainepublichealth.org/getready for more information and materials and be on the lookout for more information from us.
