Read on below to know more about this organization and its advocacy.
The Maine Public Health Association is the oldest and most diverse organization of public health professionals in the Maine and has been working to improve public health since 1984. The Association aims to protect all Mainers, their families and their communities from preventable, serious health threats and strives to assure community-based health promotion and disease prevention activities and preventive health services are universally accessible in Maine. MPHA represents a broad array of health professionals and others who care about their own health and the health of their communities.
MPHA builds a collective voice for public health, working to ensure access to health care, protect funding for core public health services and eliminate health disparities, among a myriad of other issues. Through its enewsletters, advocacy alerts, annual conference and networking meetings, the Association communicates the latest public health science and practice to members, opinion leaders and the public.
MPHA is a member based non-profit organization. We currently have 350 members from all sectors of public health. An incorporated 501(c)3, MPHA is governed by a 16 member Board of Directors and guided by our mission and bylaws. MPHA has deep and vast support from many organizations throughout Maine and is an affiliate of the American Public Health Association.
We invite you to join us in our commitment to our members and to public health in Maine!
